Call us at (847) 951-9953 any time of the day, any day of the week, for immediate assistance or if there has been a death
When death occurs at a hospital or nursing care facility, let the staff know that you would like Anello Funeral & Cremation Services to handle the arrangements. The staff may request the next of kin to sign a release authorization, or simply provide a verbal authorization with the name of the funeral establishment you wish to be contacted. The staff will follow their institution's protocol and may contact us on your behalf. You can also contact us directly and we will then follow up with the institution to make arrangements to transfer your loved one into our care.
Loved ones under hospice care may be cared for in the comfort of their own home, or they may be in an inpatient hospice unit. Those who transition in their home are usually instructed by the hospice organization to contact them first. If a hospice medical staff member isn't already present, one will come to the home as soon as possible. A family member can call us after speaking with the hospice staff member or the hospice staff will call us on your behalf when they arrive at the home. If the death occurs in an inpatient hospice unit, the hospice staff will contact us on your behalf. In either case, sometimes families are waiting on other family members or close friends to arrive before they are ready for us to transfer their loved one into our care and that is perfectly acceptable. We'll confirm a time frame of our arrival when we are notified of the death.
With an unexpected or sudden death, call 911 immediately as the authorities must be contacted first. The police or emergency medical personnel will manage the necessary protocol under the individual circumstances. In some cases, the authorities can release your loved one into our care as soon as they have completed their customary investigation. In other cases, such as an undetermined cause of death, the Medical Examiner or Coroner may become involved and your loved one may be transported to the Medical Examiner's or Coroner's Office.
When a death occurs out of town, call Anello Funeral & Cremation Services at (847) 951-9953. If you haven't already contacted a funeral home in the town in which the death occurred, we will make the necessary calls to facilitate bringing your loved one back home.
