Yvonne Irvina Jackson-Bell, R.N., a lifelong resident of Chicago, passed away on October 22, 2023. Cherished mother of Theodore III, Scott, and Cami Bell; proud grandmother of Tiyanna, Arianna, Scott Jr., and Kari Harmon; devoted daughter of Reola and the late Ira Jackson; loving sister of Dr. Mary Jackson-Hammond, M.D., Clinton, Carolyn Jackson-Jones (Otis), Darlene, and the late Army Chief Warrant Officer Gregory (Annette) Jackson; dearest aunt of many nieces and nephews; beloved niece and cousin to many in the Bolton and Jackson families.
Yvonne Irvina came into the world, the fourth of six children born to Reola and Ira Jackson. She was energetic and loved music, singing, dancing, and cooking. Bright, with a comedic sense of humor, her wit kept everyone in stitches at the numerous family affairs. She liked to visit with her cousins in Tennessee, Kankakee, and around Chicago. She attended and graduated from Fernwood Elementary and Harlan High School. At Harlan, she stood out as a member of the "Terrapins" Synchronized Swim Team, specifically in the Duet Category. She was also a member of the Student Council and served as a Lunchroom Aide. She was close with and spent much leisure time with her brothers and sisters.
Upon graduation, she briefly attended Rockford University, Rockford, IL. Later, she attended St. Mary of Nazareth Nursing School and earned her Registered Nurse (R.N.) degree. She married Theodore Bell and worked as a nurse until she became a first-time mother. Yvonne was gregarious and formed friends easily. When she had an opportunity, she loved traveling. Yvonne and her husband lived briefly in Los Angeles, California. With love, she brought Theodore the III, Scott, and Cami into the world. She remained devoted to her children and family throughout her life.
