Sandra Jean Whiteman, age 68, of Oxford, Wisconsin (formerly Sandy Maat Schueman of Carol Stream/Bartlett, IL), passed away peacefully at home on January 10, 2022 after her short battle against an aggressive cancer.

Sandy was born on July 3rd, 1953 in Oiso, Japan and adopted by her parents in September of 1953.  After graduating from Upper Darby High School in Clifton Heights, PA in 1971, she went on to study education at Wheaton Bible College.

Sandy was a homemaker for her five children, while being active in the community as a Girl Scout leader and softball coach.  Then, she pursued a career in manufacturing management before retiring at age 62, to enjoy the lake home in Oxford, WI. During her retirement, she loved being a grandmother, taking her beloved Boston terrier, Buddy, on long walks in the woods and being an active member of WI Women Fish. She enjoyed traveling, fishing on the boat, reading, puzzles and being an avid talker/storyteller with fellow friends and perfect strangers.

Sandy is survived by her loving wife of 24 years, Pat Green; children: Liesje Maat (Cuitla Huezo), Rebekka (Tim) Koehl, Raechal Maat-Crone (Nathan Crone), Jonathan (Alison) Schueman and Jessica Schueman; step children: Melissa (Marc) Koeppel, Matthew Schueman, Chad (Lisa) Green, Celeste (Eric) Smith and Courtney (Dirk) Huibregtse; grandchildren: Randy, Justin, Addyson and Zoey Schueman, Anastasia and Sasha Koehl and Penelope and Harrison Maat-Crone; step grandchildren: Aeron and Annika Koeppel and Carter Green; former husband, Donald (Katy) Schueman; and two sisters-in-law, Pam (Gary) Saunders and Sandy (Steve) Roth.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred Whiteman, nee Vecchio; brother, Gary Whiteman; and former husband, Harry Maat.
