Ramon Nunez

Ramon Nuñez, age 93, of Crown Point, IN, former longtime resident of Steger, IL, passed away October 12, 2023.  Beloved husband of Amelia, nee DeLaRosa; loving father of Linda (Jamie) Quintanilla, Diane (Richard) Lale, Ramon (Judy) Nuñez, Jr. and Juan Nuñez; cherished grandfather of Melissa (Robin) Polletta, Michael McCormick, Brandon Nuñez, Lucas Nuñez and Jacob Quintanilla; proud great grandfather of Indian, Scout and Tatiana Polletta; devoted son of the late Macaria and Ausencio Nuñez;  dearest brother of Joe, Esparanza and the late Amelia, Ignacio, Carlos, Frank, Jesse,Ysrayl and Juan; fond uncle and great uncle of many.

Ramon Nuñez was a loving, devoted husband to his Beautiful Bride Amelia for 69 years and a wonderful father who loved his four children with all his heart.  He was the very best Toto (Grandfather ) and great- Grandfather.  Ramon was an Army Korean War Veteran and four time cancer survivor. His strength for love and life was limitless.  He loved his home, gardening, tinkering in his garage, bingo and The Chicago Cubs.  Our father Ramon Nunez loved the Lord our God all through his life. He was so proud of us all and loved us all equally. He will be greatly missed and he has left himself in our hearts forever.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 7th at 10:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Liborius Catholic Church, 71 W. 35th St., Steger.  Family and friends will meet at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd., Elwood, IL on Tuesday, November 21st at 10:30 a.m. for Military Honors and Committal Prayers at 11:00 a.m.
