Carmella H. Solis, nee Campos, 75, lifelong resident of Chicago, passed away suddenly August 1, 2018. Beloved wife of Victor M.; loving mother of Manny (Noemi) and Sam (Sonia), cherished grandmother Manny Jr. (Ruben) and Abriel; dearest sister of John (the late Brenda) Gutierrez, Susie Iniquez, Richard (Bonnie) Campos and the late Alfred (the late Annie) Gutierrez, Charles Campos and Irene Campos; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Carmella will also be missed by her canine companion, Ivy.
Carmella was quite a social butterfly and was considered an icon on Willard Court. While she never did ride a motorcycle, she loved to hangout and socialize at the motorcycle club where she enjoyed time spent with many friends. Her spunky disposition made her a favorite among lunch ladies at Santa Maria and Carpenters School where she worked for many years. Carmella's greatest joy was her family. She loved her home to be filled with activity and especially loved the holidays. She will always be remembered for her special holiday prayers and her sense of humor, even cracking herself up at times. Carmella was a strong matriarch, funny and caring woman who was passionate about her family and deeply loved by all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed and never forgotten.
